No. The PDF is parsed and rebuilt locally. Only the extracted text is sent to the server for translation.

No. Credits are deducted per page and automatically refunded for any page that fails; failed pages keep the original text.

Scans have no text layer. Run the OCR tool first to get a searchable PDF, then translate it.

Not exactly. Translated text uses a visually similar Noto font (the original embedded fonts are not reused), and each replaced block is covered with a white backing — text on colored backgrounds or images will show a white patch, and where text overlaps a chart or vector graphic the white backing can cover part of that graphic. Encrypted files or rotated pages fall back to an image-backed mode with a notice.
