Repair PDF
Upload a PDF that won't open, reports "file is damaged" or renders garbled. Two repair strategies run automatically: a structural rebuild that preserves text and images, and a page-image rebuild fallback for severe corruption. Everything runs locally in your browser.

How it works (3 steps)
Upload the damaged PDF
Files that won't open, show wrong page counts or render garbled content are all worth trying.
Automatic two-level repair
The file structure (xref table / objects) is parsed and rebuilt first; if that fails, each page is rendered to an image and reassembled.
Download the result
The result card states honestly which strategy was used; image-rebuilt files look identical but text is no longer selectable.

FAQ
What kinds of damage can be fixed?
Most fixable cases: truncated downloads, corrupted cross-reference (xref) tables, and non-standard structures from buggy generators. Files whose body bytes were overwritten or encrypted-then-corrupted cannot be recovered from nothing — unfixable files are reported clearly and never count against your quota.
Try it ↑Will text still be copyable after repair?
The structural rebuild preserves the original text layer, so selection and copying work normally. If damage is too severe and the image fallback kicks in, the text layer is lost (the result card says so explicitly) — run the OCR tool afterwards to get the text back.
Try it ↑Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Both repair strategies run entirely in your browser; the file bytes never leave your device.
Try it ↑Can password-protected PDFs be repaired?
Remove a known password with the Encrypt/Decrypt tool first, then repair. We cannot and will not attempt to crack unknown passwords.
Try it ↑Does a digital signature survive processing?
No. Any change to a signed PDF (merging, compressing, watermarking…) invalidates the existing digital signature — that is the tamper-proof design of PDF signatures, not a limit of this site. Process first, then sign.
Try it ↑Can I trust the processing engine?
Yes — and you can verify it: the tool runs on open-source in-browser engines (pdf-lib, pdf.js, Tesseract OCR…) on your own device. Open DevTools → Network while processing and you will see no file upload requests.
