How much sharper is 2x than standard?

2x renders at double resolution — roughly 1.8x the pixels of the standard 1.5x — so text edges stay noticeably crisper when zoomed or printed, at the cost of larger image files.

When should I use it?

Slides that will be projected, printing above A4, reviewing design details — any time the image gets enlarged again, 2x is the safer choice.

Will long documents fail?

Pages render one at a time with a progress bar; documents up to ~100 pages complete reliably. 2x rendering taking a bit longer is normal.

Is my file uploaded?

No — rendering is done by pdf.js inside your browser; the file never leaves your device.

Does a digital signature survive processing?

No. Any change to a signed PDF (merging, compressing, watermarking…) invalidates the existing digital signature — that is the tamper-proof design of PDF signatures, not a limit of this site. Process first, then sign.

Can I trust the processing engine?

Yes — and you can verify it: the tool runs on open-source in-browser engines (pdf-lib, pdf.js, Tesseract OCR…) on your own device. Open DevTools → Network while processing and you will see no file upload requests.
